Richard Wright

Richard Wright is Assistant Vice President for Procurement at Baylor University, where he leads Procurement Services in support of the University’s academic and operational needs. His work includes overseeing purchasing, contracts, travel, card programs, and strategic sourcing, with a focus on collaboration, service, and practical solutions.
With more than 20 years of experience in higher‑education procurement, Richard has been part of the Baylor community since 2008 and enjoys working alongside campus partners to make procurement processes clear and accessible. Outside of work, he enjoys fixing things, spending time outdoors, and being at home with his family, their goldendoodle Rosie, and a small flock of backyard chickens. Richard holds C.P.M. and CPSM certifications, a bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin, and an MBA from Baylor University.
